Associate Veterinarian- Dr. Stewart:
Dr. Michelle Stewart was raised in Littleton, CO before leaving to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She then worked via a fellowship grant at the National Institutes of Health Vaccine Research Center focusing on creating a vaccine for HIV. At the end of her fellowship, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Stewart lived and worked as an Associate Veterinarian in Arlington, VA before moving to Mexico City, Mexico. In Mexico City, Dr. Stewart attempted language immersion in Spanish and worked with students at the veterinary training university (Banfield Pet Hospital Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México), training them to use dental equipment and dental x-rays to help identify common dental diseases. After becoming barely proficient in Spanish, Dr. Stewart moved back to Colorado with her husband and the dog they adopted in Mexico, Enchilada. She now spends her free time fixing her 110-year-old house, hiking in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
